On his first day in his new role, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” America's largest city, declaring “a new era” and an bold start to his administration.

A Groundbreaking Mayor

The young figure, who just a year ago remained a virtually unknown state assemblyman, has become the city's first Muslim mayor. He also made history by being the first to be sworn in using the Qur'an.
